Giles Brooker MA(Hons), DipSLT, DipBusAdmin (Dispute Resolution), FCIS

Giles Brooker has been an independent evaluator and development consultant in the field of tertiary education for over ten years. He has managed evaluations of a wide range of degree approval and accreditation proposals for the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) and ITPQuality. He is also a quality auditor for ITPQuality.

Giles has over 35 years' experience in tertiary education both in teaching and administration (Auckland Institute of Technology; University of Auckland) and government agencies (Ministry of Education (NZ), New Zealand Qualifications Authority, National Council for Vocational Qualifications (UK), Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (UK)).

Giles' initial academic interests were in linguistics, languages and inter-cultural communication. He is a fluent speaker of English and French and has varying levels of competency in several other languages. He has a strong affinity with migrant and indigenous communities. Career opportunities led to considerable involvement in tourism education, curriculum development and evaluation, organisational evaluation and dispute resolution.

Giles was elected a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators in 2006 and serves as Chair of the New Zealand branch Assessment Review Panel.
